Me and my aunt are techie Autistics.
Trouble is, we always get into Apple vs Samsung arguments. I grew up with Apple and personally prefer its Operating Systems to Android and Windows (I do use Linux too), while my aunt does not like iOS in particular because, I quote in paraphrasing, “It’s too simplistic.”
I would personally be fine with Android if I grew up with it. I like it, but it feels… foreign to me.
I did grow up with Windows, but I grew to hate it with 10’s overabundance of advertising. macOS feels a lot cleaner, and while the prices are ridiculous, I just went for a Mac mini (and will stick to the mini line.)
At the end of the day, companies like Apple, Samsung, Google and Microsoft are all faceless. They don’t care about us.
Yes, Linux is there. I just don’t like that iCloud isn’t a thing with it. Thanks Apple, thinking different.
I’ve used a lot of Linux distributions in the past. A few Desktop Environments too. In that regard, Arch or Fedora Linux with KDE Plasma or GNOME are my preferred choices.
I currently am running an Ubuntu instance for my Personal Data Server. I’d use Arch if i could.
